Who knew Battle of the Sexes was just more than a movie, and it can start having a proactive effect on the pets we wish to buy, and especially dogs?. It doesn't matter if you’ve just started out with your research or interest in wanting a pet or if you already have one, we’ve got some enthralling news for you about how sex doesn't actually matter, and its a very personal choice, which we at PetandMe empathize with you on.
The Author of the book The Ultimate Pet Health Guide - Dr. Gary Richter, a renowned vet breaks it down to us to help us unlearn the aspects of how the Gender of your Pet has no sort of strings attached to its behavior, health, sustainability or other assumptions we all seem to possess.
Well, he seemed to have made it easy for us to write about this. Dogs have always been our support systems, and sometimes just being there for a person without speaking or saying any kind of comforting words is also part of a holistic healing process, and thanks to these superheroes.
Be it Scooby or Marmaduke, we’ve all had the pawsome experience shredded about dogs in the most elegant manner possible. What is quite condescending in these movies, and in real life is the kind of relationship we share with the doggos. What actually matters is the kind of connection a dog builds with you when you wish to adopt it, and that first look your dog offers and that which you offer in return is something like that mystical feeling you had when you first saw or fell in love with your partner. Hold that thought and choose your dog, because that’s when the Universe summons the cosmic powers and creates a beautiful bond between your dog and you.
We live in a world that is seeing inequality and demarcation in almost everything, the least we could do is not let it come into the lives of animals at least. Let’s look at a society where Dogs are dogs irrespective of their gender. The Gender of your dog never mattered, to begin with, its the compatibility you possess with them, how well are you training them to get accustomed to your living space, and its relationship with that of those you know and consider to be family.
Now to address this uncanniness of this demarcation, Sexism is not the only culprit, the environment we grow up in our, our societal believes and conditioning of gender and intersectionality with humans is how this thought even proliferated. Our cuss words have a problem, and to denote them with animals is just vile and barbaric, in other words.
“To be or not to be”, as Shakespeare puts it in hamlet, is in an individuals knowledge system of how they’ve decided to decipher meanings and construct patterns, and if staying uninformed is what they choose, then it is like living inside a rut, where you say this is all I know and this is all I care for. Our choices matter and how we grow up and unlearn meanings and traverse into individuals with informed opinions matters. Knowledge maybe a curse, but staying uninformed is close to apocalypse.
Let’s start living lives without differences and let that begin with our pets.
